Louis Bompard - L’Officiel 10/2011

So whatcha think about Nicholas Kirkwood?

After working on our shoes/leather class we had to make this project on a shoe designer. Nicholas Kirkwood was our pick. I’ve got to admit, I didn’t know much about him, but as the shoes obsessed that as I am, Im quite happy to have finally found a true shoe designer. More than that .. he is a true artist.

I’ll try to put our PPT presentation up!

THE MUGLER EXPERIENCE

three weeks after the craziness of the SS13 fashion week, I have not been able to keep my blog updated. Ever since the 20th of august, my internship at Mugler has taken over my life. It has been a non stop, amazing experience, even if  sometimes life as an intern is not always easy. September has been a non stop journey of working, of seeing a collection being developed and being part of it, of a team, who each has the same passion, the same goal.. to make a runway happen. three weeks after fashion week we don’t get to breathe for more than a week, that we are already in it for the next season. Such an exciting experience. It’s going to be very difficult to leave the office in december and go back for second semester of school in january!

Saint Laurent Paris

There has been a lot of changes in the Fashion industry lately. Chez Yves Saint Laurent a new designer, Hedi Slimane, a new name and logo . Well not really new, in fact Saint Laurent Paris was the original name of his ready to wear line in the 60s when Yves opened his boutique in Rive Gauche Paris. It seems like Hedi Slimane wants to make a fresh start and Pierre Bergé is giving him all the freedom he wants to do with the brand, like working on the collection in L.A. Im not so sure how I feel about these decisions, first Yves Saint Laurent is a french brand, so all the creation should stay here in Paris and second keeping YSL and Yves is like keeping him alive, the man  behind it all. Saint Laurent Paris feels so marketing and branding. It looses a bit of its magic. I really hope it is a change for the better.

Clip and Go Heels - Tanya Heath

Like a lot of girls (and also boys) I have a thing for shoes, mostly heels. It used to be really bad as I would buy a new pair every week and even if I don’t wear all of them all the time, I m starting to get a large collection of shoes and it’s getting crowded.

So as a shoe fan, I felt like sharing this new and creative shoe designer I heard about who created a pair a shoes (different models), which you can clip on any shape or different heights of heels to that same pair of shoes!! Even though the designs are still pretty classic at the moment, I think the idea is kind of amazing. How about going to work with short kitten heels and then later on going for drinks by just clipping on higher chunky heels? I really want to see how that concept is going to evolve!

It seems like from the moment I need to be careful with my money (because remember Im a student living in Paris) well from that moment… my mind comes up with all the great clothes and shoes I want need to buy. And of course I enjoyed the sales and bought what were not in sales for the most part, as usual. Anyway, since I can’t really shop for now, I took time to make a wish-list, so I can feel a little better. Thankfully, I will be starting a new internship soon and will be able to cross somethings off my summer/autumn wish-list. Mostly pastel colors and black, high-waist shorts and dresses and studded moccasins.
